View system settings compatibility

Unisphere allows an authorized user with appropriate access to manage system settings. Settings can also be cloned, that is, settings can be copied from one array and applied to one or more target arrays subject to compatibility checks.

Prerequisites

Only a user with Storage Administrator or Administrator permission can clone system settings.

Steps

  1. In the Clone Settings or Import Settings dialog, click ? next to the Include incompatible arrays checkbox and select What's the difference?
    NOTE: Selecting How we decide? results in the display of this help page.

    The following rules apply when comparing settings between the arrays:

    Array Policy Settings: NAS alerts - if there is no NAS configured for the array, the following alert policy settings are not available for configuration:

    • File System Auto Extend Failed No Space
    • File System Auto Extend Failed Pool Size
    • File System Auto Extend Failed Extent Too Small
    • File System Size Threshold Crossed
    • File System Usage Percent Alert
    • File System Usage Available Alert
    • File System Usage Percent Max FS Alert
    • File System Usage Available Max FS Alert
    • File System Usage Percent Max Pool Alert
    • File System Usage Available Max Pool Alert
    • File System Projection Alert
    • File System Projection Max FS Alert
    • File System Projection Max Pool Alert
    • File System Projection Full Alert
    • File System Projection Almost Full Alert
    • File System Usage Inode Percent Alert

    Array Policy Settings: Storage Pool alerts

    • Storage Pool Usage Percent Alert
    • Storage Pool Usage Available Alert
    • Storage Pool Projection Alert

    System Threshold Settings

    The remaining settings are consistent across all array configurations.
